A Message From Patter Birsic
Welcome to the National Pancreas Foundation's PancreasBowl! I invite you to join me in a fun time of bowling and fellowship for a GREAT cause. The event will be held on Sunday, October 24 at Paradise Island Bowl and Beach located in Neville Island, Pittsburgh. My goal is $5,000 and I am planning to meet (or beat) that goal with your help!
As you know, we lost Tom's sister, Joan Birsic Dawson, to pancreatic cancer at the young age of 40 in 1997. As a result of the horrific experiences the Birsic family endured during Joan's fight, we started the NPF. At that time, there was no source of information or support for those suffering from pancreatic diseases. NPF has grown over the almost 25 years, providing a wide range of programs for both the patient and medical communities- from our Research Grant Program to Camp Hope- a camp for kids with pancreatitis.
The NPF leadership envisons expanding existing programs and and adding new ones..but we can't do it without your help. Thank you in advance for you your time and consideration.
