I never knew about pancreatitis until I experienced my first acute attack in May 2021 . Technically, I had seen the word earlier that month since another friend around my age was hospitalized for it, although I had not looked it up. But as a public health professional, I was shocked we never spoke about pancreatic diseases especially with knowledge on risk factors and screening which education about could have a great impact on prevention and early detection of pancreatic diseases. And that is why I love NPF, for being a leading organization in advocacy, education, support and research on these diseases. My goal of $516 represents my May 16th 2021 diagnosis. For every $1 donated, I will do 1 pushup!! I am up to over 100 pushups as of 10/20. I am not an active person but this will be great motivation for me.
