A Message From Christie Heinzman
I am honored to run the NYC marathon this year on behalf of the National Pancreas Foundation - a nonprofit organization that provides hope for those suffering with pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer through funding cutting edge research, advocating for new and better therapies, and providing support and education for patients, caregivers and health care providers.
As a pediatric nurse practitioner who provides care for countless children suffering with debilitating pain from acute recurrent and chronic pancreatitis, I can attest that pancreatic disease is a true demon. Pancreatitis and pancreatic diseases can destroy lives and families, but with continued research - hope for relief from this suffering remains strong.
I made a commitment to the NPF to raise awareness and by doing so we support a community of patients and families suffering from pancreatic disease. I will be training hard over the next several months to prepare for the marathon. I would love to have your support as I also work to meet my fundraising goal.
