A Message From Monroe Marshall
I had no idea what pancreatitis was until I was told at the ER that is what I had one day in May 2021 when I came in due to the most severe pain I ever felt, that lasted all day along with consistent vomiting and inability to eat or drink. This resulted in an 8 day hospital stay but despite being an acute episode, the cause was and is still unknown so it continues to impact me although luckily less recently.
My experience with pancreatitis is the only reason I am aware of what this disease is, despite it not being uncommon and working in the public health field.
I am so glad to be a representative in the Capital Region of NY for this amazing foundation that helps people with all types of pancreatic disease.
